Why doesn't the "When a subitem becomes overdue" trigger include the parent item's fields?

The trigger returns only subitem data by design, so use the parent ID it returns to fetch the parent item in a later step.

Fix

Short answer: This trigger now returns only the subitem's data. Add a step that fetches the parent item using the parent ID from the trigger output.

Why it happens

  • Kissflow changed the When a subitem becomes overdue trigger on purpose. It no longer carries the parent item's fields.

How to fix it

  1. In the integration, test the trigger and find the parent ID in the subitem output.
  2. Add the Board action Retrieve data from a board and search for the parent item by that ID.
  3. Map the parent fields you need from that step into the later actions.

You can also fetch the parent with an API call to GET /case/2/<account_id>/<case_id>/<item_id>. See Kissflow Board connector.
