Building integrations

Post a Slack channel message when a process item completes

Build a two-step integration with a Kissflow Process trigger and the Slack connector's Send a channel message action.

Tip

Short answer: Create an integration with a Kissflow Process trigger and the Slack action Send a channel message. Each time an item finishes its workflow, a message goes to the channel, so nobody has to post updates by hand.

When to use this

Use this when a team works in Slack and needs to hear about approvals. For example, when a proposal completes its approval process, a message in the communications channel says whose proposal was approved.

Set it up

  1. Click Create in the left navigation panel and select Integration. Enter a name and description, and click Create.
  2. Add the Kissflow Process trigger When an item completes its workflow, select your process, and click Test trigger.
  3. Add an action step, search for Slack, and select Send a channel message.
  4. Click + Add an account, sign in with your Slack account, and choose the channel.
  5. Write the message, mapping fields from the trigger step, such as the item name and initiator.
  6. Click Test to check the action.
  7. Turn on the toggle to activate the integration.

See Slack connector for all Slack actions.

Tip

The Slack connector can also create channels, invite users to a channel, and send direct messages. You can schedule a message for a later time.
