Fix
Short answer: Extract the downloaded ZIP fully before you open anything, keep the file name and path short, and open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets so the values split into columns.
Why it happens
- The download was a ZIP, and the file was opened from inside it before extraction.
- The file name or folder path is too long for Windows.
- The CSV was converted without letting the spreadsheet app parse the commas.
How to fix it
- If the download is a ZIP, right-click it and click Extract All…, choose a folder, then click Extract.
- Rename the extracted file to something short and move it to a short path, such as your desktop.
- For a CSV that shows in one column, open it in Excel or Google Sheets so the values split into columns. Then save it as
.xlsx. - If Excel warns about links, choose to ignore or break them. If needed, turn off Protected View under File > Options > Trust Center.
- If it still won't open, open it in Google Sheets and download it from there, or export it from Kissflow again.
- If extraction keeps failing, ask IT to check whether antivirus or backup software is locking the file.
