How-to
Short answer: You can discard unpublished changes and go back to the last published version. Once you click Go live, the previous version can't be restored.
Why it happens
- The process editor saves changes automatically as a draft. There's no version history to roll back to.
- Go live publishes all draft changes together, including changes another admin saved.
- Discarding a draft removes every unpublished change in it, not just yours.
How to fix it
If the changes aren't published yet:
- Open the process and click Manage > Edit process.
- Click Review changes to see what was added, deleted or modified since the last publish.
- Click Discard changes. The process returns to its last published state. See Reviewing publish changes.
If someone else is editing, another Process Admin can open the process and choose Discard their changes and take over editing, or Save their changes and take over editing to keep them. See Edit a process.
If the changes are already published:
- Rebuild the deleted steps or fields, or reverse the edits, in the editor.
- Test the result with workflow simulation.
- Click Go live again.
To avoid this next time:
- Click Review changes before every Go live.
- Publish finished work promptly, so half-done edits from others don't go live with it.
- Before a large change, duplicate the process as a reference copy.
Important
The audit log records that a process was published, not each field, formula or condition edit. Keep your own notes of big changes.
