Tip
Short answer: Connect your process and dataset with an integration. When a new item is created, the integration reads the matching dataset records and writes them into the form table, so nobody types them in.
When to use this
Use it when a form table repeats data you already keep in a dataset. For example, an inventory process can fill its equipment table with names and quantities from an equipment dataset as soon as a new item is added. This cuts manual entry and typing errors.
Set it up
- Create an integration.
- Add a Kissflow Process trigger, such as When an item is created, and select your process.
- Click Test trigger.
- Add a Kissflow Dataset action that reads the records you need, such as Find records from a dataset.
- Add the Kissflow Process action Update an item. Map the Instance ID from the trigger so the integration updates the item that was just created, then map the dataset values into the form table columns.
- Test each action, then turn on the integration.
Tip
After you create a new item, refresh it to see the values fill in.
Note
Find records from a dataset returns up to 200 records.
