Users, roles and assignment

Which process features work differently inside apps?

Impersonation isn't supported for app processes, the Users system table isn't available in app Analytics, and comment mentions are limited to current and previous assignees.

How-to

Short answer: A few standalone process features aren't available, or are narrower, when the process lives inside an app. Plan around them before you move a process into an app.

Why it happens

Processes inside apps run in the app's environments and roles, and some account-level features don't reach them:

  • Impersonation isn't supported for processes inside apps.
  • The User system table isn't available as a data source in app Analytics. Standalone Analytics has it. See system tables in Analytics.
  • Expanding table rows to full screen isn't available in app forms.

How to fix it

For comment mentions:

  1. Mention only the item's current step assignees or previous step approvers. Others can't be tagged. This limit applies to every process, not only those in apps. See process comments.
  2. If someone needs to follow the item, add them to the step, or share it with them another way.

For user data in app reports:

  1. Contact Kissflow support with your use case to look for a workaround.

For impersonation:

  1. Use a standalone process if you depend on impersonation in integrations. See impersonation in service accounts.

Tip

If you need any of these in apps, submit a feature request to Kissflow.
