Sign-in, access and outages

Why does a new user keep being asked to verify their email, or see "Verification link expired"?

Verification links expire after 24 hours; have the user open the latest email, or resend verification or activate the user from User management.

Fix

Short answer: Verification links expire after 24 hours. Have the user open the latest Kissflow email and click its verification button. As an admin, you can resend the email or activate the user directly.

Why it happens

  • The user opened an older email, or clicked the plain account link instead of the verification button.
  • The link was opened more than 24 hours after it was sent.
  • The email went to spam or was blocked by the mail server.

How to fix it

  1. Ask the user to open the latest Kissflow welcome email and click Get Started within 24 hours.
  2. If no email arrives, ask them to check Spam, Junk and All mail, and ask IT whether Kissflow mail is blocked.
  3. Resend it: go to Account administration > User management, select the user and click Resend verification email. See resend verification email.
  4. The user can also resend it from the banner that stays at the top of their account until they verify. See verify your email address.
  5. To give access right away, select the user in User management and click Activate. This also activates users with a requested-access status.
  6. If a new user still can't sign in, activate them, send a reset-password link, and ask them to check spam.

Important

Users who are already verified or inactive don't receive a resend. A user whose email address changed must verify the new one before signing in again.
