How-to
Short answer: Task delegation isn't part of the public API reference. Users set their own delegation in My settings, and Super Admins can set it for anyone from Account administration.
Why it happens
- The documented user endpoints cover creating, listing and updating users, but not delegation.
- Delegation endpoints exist in the product, but they aren't documented, so they can change without notice.
How to fix it
To delegate your own tasks:
- Click your profile picture > My settings.
- Under Task delegation, click Add delegation, then set the dates, the processes and the delegate. See task delegation.
To delegate another user's tasks as a Super Admin:
- Click your profile picture > Account administration > Task delegation > + New.
- Select the user, the delegate, the processes and the dates. See task delegation for admins.
If you must automate it, these undocumented endpoints have been used:
- For your own tasks, using your own access key:
POST /user/2/{account_id}/delegation/mewithStartDate,EndDate,Context(all_floworspecific_flow),Fromand aFlowarray whose entries hold_id(_allor a flow ID),TypeandTo. - For another user, as an admin:
PUT /user/2/{account_id}/admin/delegation/{user_id}withStartDate,ContextandFlow.
Important
Only new process tasks are delegated. Tasks already assigned stay with the user. Contact Kissflow support before you rely on the undocumented endpoints.
